Not a problem. When KDE 4.x.x is really ready for public consumption, PCLinuxOS team will place it on their repository.

No, the devs, including Texstar himself, have felt that KDE 4.2 is not quite up to funtionally replacing KDE 3.5.x, nor is it stable enough. A large part of the community agrees.

KDE 4 hasn't won everyone over, you know. There is a large, yet vocal, group that thinks the developers have ruined a good thing. I'm in that group. There's no doubt they needed to clean house, but some of the decisions they've made weren't the best.

Hi LinuxLover,

I think Tex and the Gang has done very right thing by not including KDE 4.x.x. I tried last night KDE 4.2.1 on OpenSuse. And came to know the KDE4 is close to but not yet suitable enough for general mass.

By the way, people need a stable system, not a buggy eye-candy. However, when it will be really ready PCLinuxOS people will include it in the repository.

"There is a large, yet vocal, group that thinks the developers have ruined a good thing. I'm in that group" I'm on that group too, but I think that "Resistance is futile ..." ;-) maybe with time we will learn to love KDE4

PCLinuxOS is designed to make it easier for people to switch to Linux. Once the devs consider that KDE 4.x meets this need, they will switch to it. KDE 4 was originally released for development use, and it is becoming increasingly usable. But PCLinuxOS has made the correct decision for its own user base, a decision that can be reviewed once it is felt that KDE 4.x is ready.

How about this
